This weekend, I am settling in a new dog, daughter of the precious friend who left me 2 weeks ago... she will never fill his woolly boots, but is a real sweetie and very huggable.
So far so good. Button, my 11 yr old, wants to be friends which is more than I expected & is a good start.........

That's very nice Earthsong, as she is already familiar with you and will have one less change to face in the days to come. More than her friend, Button will probably want to be her protector. If this happens, I suggest you play along - it will give him a role in the story and your new arrival will feel looked after by a like-minded mate.
