Another hotel replied:

http://www.mercure.com

Many thanks for your email and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

With regards to the enquiry, what number of rooms would you require as we would base a group rate on the number of bedrooms required.
We are non-smoking throughout the hotel so would not be able to offer any smoking bedrooms.
We do have WiFi throughout the hotel which is based on a voucher system ranging in price from £4.00 up to £40.00 depending on the voucher required.

Botley Road is on the opposite side of Oxford to us so would be about a 20 minute walk. There are however a number of buses that stop just up from the hotel which head towards the Botley Road area.

If you can send me the bedroom requirements, I will look at a rate for you.

Kind regards

Malcolm Hood

I am a definate....awe sorry to upset them going....and it would be better at Hotel for me as i know you guys are queueing up to buy me drinks....and dont worry if you cant get in the Queue i will gladly take cash at the Sat night dinner....However i am just going through the hotel details you posted at the moment so will post again here later....but would rule out the one that wants 100 plus per night not including breakfast as im not as rich as Terry not as Snobby as Anchorman...Joke mate...the back windows wont suit Earth....she will explain...as Katie says its quite a bit from her....and last but not least and probably the most important of all...i dont think it would be friendly to Scrummys pets whether he had them or not. Will post later bout the other places TaRa Shyscottie

Below is the reply from The Perch – where the meal will be on 19th May. They need a £10pp deposit:

Dear Joan,

It sounds like a joyous occasion!
I have pencilled you in the diary for the 19th of May 2012, 20 guests in The Old Cellar.
Could you let me know of a time as soon as possible. We would be happy to hold the date with no deposit until the 24th of February. Final numbers for the party should be given no later than the 4th of May 2012.
I have attached our current menu but please note our seasonal menu change on the 21st of March. We will e-mail you with details when the Spring menu is finalised.
The set menu is a good option for large tables, should you want your guests to have the choice of the full a la carte menu, we would need a pre-order.

Thank you for your booking
Celine
