I have known my friend, the sea, for many years,

Do you know her? Or do you wish you knew her?

I told her of my first love, I told her of my wishes,

She knew my dreams forever and always.

Do you know my friend, the sea?

If you know her, I'm sure you'll understand.

Yes I know your friend the sea. I think the sea knows a lot of secrets
Thank you for your comment, Celeste. She knows all my secrets.

There are so many remembrances, growing up and later in adult life
Of listening to her crashing silently on the sands of time, and me speaking to her.
I have lived too long far away from her, but every opportunity I get,
I've not wasted that time to get re-acquainted on a calm and peaceful night.
I tell her everything and she patiently doesn't judge,
She hears me, she cries for me, she let's out yelps of joy,
She lets me say all I want, she absorbs all my confessions;
She takes them out over the horizon, and for that, she is a true friend.
